Critical Self-Reflection [ Converse Advert Storyboard ]

The advert I have created will be advertising Converse's flagship product, Chuck Taylor All Star shoes. The key theme will be about how Chuck Taylor All Star is versatile and suitable for anyone or any situation.  How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?   I have researched different Converse advertisements to find out what they emphasize and convey in their advertisement. I have made an advert analysis of one of their advertisements titled, Converse All Stars. In the advertisement they advertise their shoes by telling a story to the audience about their long history and they also included clips of crises such as climate change, famine and poverty, showing how the world has changed. We also reviewed some theories from AS level such as camera technical codes.  Week 2 Our teacher introduced the storyboard project briefly (what to do, timeline, rubric).  We were introduced tp new theories (Todorov's Theory of Narrative, Levi Strauss' Binary Opposites Theory) I created blogs containing case studies of the theories we learned in class. We also made a video about Camera shots and angles to experiment and develop a deeper understanding about the topic. Week 3 We were introduced to Barthes' Codes and I made another case study blog about it. I also experimented with different camera movement and made a video of it with a partner in class. We tried to make our first storyboard in the class along with the teacher's instruction. Week 4 On this week, we explained our big plan about our advert to the teacher. We research and watched other advertisements as a reference for our advertisement.  I mad
