Prosumerism - Fan Influence in Media

A fan is someone who strongly identifies with a media product, character etc, often form groups “fandoms” and are often portrayed as geeks, ‘other’ in the media.

 Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey

Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey was first first released with the name "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)." However despite of the good critics from professionals it was underperformed in the first week of its airing. Audiences were confused as to what the film was about. The title was also in contrast to the advertising, which had all but promoted the film as a Harley Quinn solo act. The initial title, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), was meant to have a clever reference to the comic book, even so most of their fans were not satisfied with the choice of the title.
