Diary: Weekly Progress and Plan [ Component 3 ]

Plan

This is our group's plan for the component 3 project. We will try to stick to our plan in order to get our project done by the deadline date. We will keep track of our progress by noting our weekly progress every end of the week.

Week 1

This week we watched a few music videos in class. I wrote 1 detailed research analysis and 6 simple research analysis of different kinds of music videos. I also decided on my group. I'm thinking about creating a music video of a chill R&B music but it is still not a fixed decision since I haven't discussed it with my team member.

Week 2

This week I completed my music video researches. My team started creating the pre-plan. We listened to some songs together (Kill Bill by SZA, my boy, bellyache and my strange addiction by Billie Eilish  & Raise y_our glass by HUH YUNJIN) and picked a song which is My Strange Addiction. 

Week 3

This week we started planning for our project. Me and my partner divided our roles and task. We did a discussion on the storyline and concept of the music video. Erina started to draw the storyboard while I created moodboard and decide on a color scheme. I also created a blog for my digipack research. Aside from that, we also decided the actor and location for our music video filming.

Week 4 

This week we finalized the concept, artist name, album name and song list. I worked the album cover, digipack and social media research. I added an extra research for my music video research blog. I made 9 thumbnails for the album cover. My partner Erin, finished the storyboard.

Week 5

This week we did a test filming, finished the digipack thumbnails for both sides (back and front). Erin made the props and designed the imaginary characters while I tried to familiarize myself with the editing software (Premiere Pro) and I also created a VHS preset that we're going to use later during the editing. We plan to shoot most of the clips we need by next week.

Week 6

This week my team filmed all the scenes in the road and room, we also filmed some scenes at school. Before that we also worked together to create and prepare props. I started editing the videos together while Erin was animating the some scenes. I cropped and combined all the scenes we shot together and altered the brightness, saturation, tone, highlights and shadows of the video with lumetri color in the software Adobe photoshop.

Week 7

This week we continued filming and editing.

Week 8

This week I continued editing the music video and my partner continued on animating the animation. I also started planning and creating the branding of my artist. I created a mockup of the digipack, designed some instagram posts and create a logo for my artist. We also planned on how the artist will engage with her audience. We plan to film our last scenes of the music video in the beach this week.

Week 9

This week I finished up editing the music video and Erina finish animating the animation part. I continued making the digipack mockups. Me and my partner worked together to create instagram posts and captions using Canva. I created an instagram account for my artist and post promotional posters and teasers.
